Name: Sadao "Satan" Maou/Sam Middleton
Canon: The Devil is a Part Timer
Age: 20
Preincarnation Appearance: Distinctly average looking, aside from his eyes which have vertical slit pupils and are red. No one ever seems to notice or comment on this, though. In demon form, he has goat hooves instead of feet and twisty horns coming out of the side of his head, one of which has been broken off about half way down. He's also about a foot taller and twice as bulky, and it's all muscle.
Any differences: Pretty much exactly the same except for the eyes, which are an ordinary brown and have no unusual shape

Maou Sadao was once known as the Demon Overlord Satan, in the mystic land of Ente Isle. He led mighty armies of powerful demons across the land, conquering city after city with no remorse and no mercy. Just when all hope seemed lost for humanity, a mighty hero rose from the last land besieged by the demons, and turned the tide. Satan watched his armies fall one by one until eventually it was HIM besieged in his own palace. The hero led a small team of trusted allies into the hard of the Overlord's domain to deal with Satan and his lieutenants themselves. Satan was out matched and forced to flee. He opened a portal to another world Vowing to return and swearing bloody vengeance to all who had opposed him.
At the other end of the portal was a strange land that had almost no magic to speak of: Modern Day Tokyo, Japan. Taking on the pseudonym Maou Sadao, the Overlord and his only lieutenant who followed him through the portal took up a new life in Tokyo, laying low until they could figure out a way to restore their power and conquer THIS world in preparation for their return to Ente Isle. Using the last of his dwindling supply of magic, he acquired a home, an identity, and a job: Cashier at "MgRonalds" fast food burger joint.
His plan was complicated, though, first by the appearance of the legendary hero who had originally defeated him (though she had lost her powers in the same way he had), and by the fact that he was now dealing with humans in scenarios other than causing violence and terror for the first time. He was starting to realize he actually LIKED living with humans normally.
Reincarnated History Sam Middleton grew up in nearby New York in a rich neighborhood as the only son of an investment banker and a chemical engineer. He coasted through high school on natural talent, being relatively intelligent but generally unmotivated. He applied for a couple of colleges, got into Locke U on a partial scholarship. His future looked bright.
However the minute he was out of his parents sight, something clicked in his head. He stopped doing his homework, he skipped lots of classes, he started getting high, and generally just did anything he wanted. Of course, in relatively short order, he lost his scholarship. He tried to not tell his parents, but they found out when the bill for his next quarter came to them to pay and it was twice as big as the previous one. They did a bit of questioning, and suffice to say they were annoyed with what they found out. After much discussion, Sam was cut off from parental support for a while. They decided that a few months of working some shit job to scrape together rent would do wonders for Sam's appreciation of an education.
The whole sequence of events had, indeed, shaken Sam out of his stupor. He quickly cast out for a job, any job, and was able to hook up a position at a nearby McDonald's. However in an unforeseen twist, Sam did not find his new position to be unbearable drudgery. He has become a model employee, pleasing his manager with a confident, friendly attitude and good work ethic that has apparently come out of nowhere. The truth of it is that he finds this job quite satisfying, in a strange sort of way.
First Echo: He got in a stare down with a goat at the zoo. It was an ornery bastard with one horn missing. Uncannily similar to his own horns in his past life as a demon. He suddenly found that whenever someone felt unhappy, he could not only feel it, but found it alluring like the scent of a well cooked meal.
Suffice to say he finds this reaction disturbing.
Preincarnation Personality: Maou is surprisingly straightforwards in how he thinks. He decides what he wants, then works towards it. If the situation changes he adapts quickly, changing his plans without hesitation. When it became clear he could not defeat the heroes of humanity on Ente Isle, he immediately fled. When he found himself on Earth, he quickly determined what was needed to survive here and then jumped into action to get it. He is not the type to get thrown off for long.
He had spent his time in Ente Isle conquering and fighting humans because this is what a demon overlord did. He didn't really understand or care about what humans were actually like any more than you would care about a bad guy in a video game. Humans weren't PEOPLE to him; just something to deal with. Being trapped on Earth quickly put an end to this, as he was forced to interact with humans on a day to day basis without having unstoppable magic power to get what he wanted. It dawned on him that he actually rather liked humans. He enjoys his new life on Earth, for all it's petty mundanity. He gets just as much pleasure dealing with customers and co-workers as he did from leading armies, if not more.
He CLAIMS this hasn't stopped his plans for world conquest. He'll just explain that he's thinking long term, and that while he may be enjoying himself right now, in the end he still fully intends to rule the world. Even though he hasn't fully admitted it even to himself, this is a load of baloney. He has passed up several chances to open a portal home, instead spending his power to undo the damages done fighting his enemies who followed him from Ente Isle.
Maou does has several weaknesses. He's very closed off, frequently not even letting his own lieutenants in on his thinking. As such, his friends and subordinates usually have to guess at what his plans are. He'll sometimes cause a huge amount of confusion by unexpectedly changing his mind about something without telling anyone. He's also bad at women. He consistently fails to notice any interest they have in him.
He has an enormous amount of self confidence, and a tendency to indulge in luxuries. In Ente Isle this no doubt took the form of drinking wine from the skulls of his enemies. On Earth, it means buying comic books and watching movies he can't really afford to on his income. It comes from the villain's assumption that you can do what you want because obviously your plans are going to work out.
Any differences: The biggest difference between Sam and Overlord Satan, aside from a lack of plans for world conquest, is the relationship between him and his roommates. In his past life, the people he lived with were his loyal (well, loyalish) servants and generals from ente isle, and as such they at least gave him lip service and loyalty. Now, instead of powerful demon generals, Sam is stuck with two random roommates off of Craigslist. They didn't know him before they moved in here, and as long as they chip in their share of the rent, they don't owe him shit. He knows this. He's doesn't boss them around. He doesn't really boss anyone around.
The arrogant confidence of the overlord is hidden too. In it's place is the kind of placid acceptance of a young man who thinks he knows how the world works and just wants to get on with things. It's not GONE, but without any kind of power or memories to back it up, it is wholly dormant.
He's also much more actively into geek culture. He plays video games a lot more. He watches anime, reads comic books, he's big into D&D (His recent troubles put an end to the campaign he was in. He's trying to get a new group together.) and he's even toying with the idea of dipping into the local LARP scene. DMing, specifically, lets him air out the potential demon overlord in his heart. He likes playing the villains.
And of course, he occasionally indulges in marijuana. He doesn't do it nearly as often as he used to, because he actually IS trying to get his life back on track, but he hasn't stopped entirely. Maybe once or twice a month, on a night when he doesn't have anything else to do.
Abilities: Limited by the weakened magic of Earth, Maou technically has all of his powers, but does not have nearly enough energy to use them in any but the most limited of ways. However, large concentrations of negative emotions (fear, anger, despair, etc.) can temporarily empower him to his old strength. If he should find a suitably large power source, say a riot or a large crowd of frightened people, he can become essentially unstoppable. No one in the anime ever comes close to being able to beat him when he's got a good dose of power in him.
The powers we see him use:
- Superhuman strength, speed, and toughness
- Flight
- Teleportation
- Telekinesis
- Mental domination of others (used on both humans and animals, though it is implied it's easier to use them on animals.)
- Memory alteration
- Magical blasts of energy
He almost certainly has more than these, but these are what we mostly see.

Hey everyone, I'm putting together a new D&D group if anyone is interested. I know this isn't exactly world saving network business, but screw you no one else is talking right now and we're not gonna run out of bandwidth or something.
Anywho, gonna be running 3.5. You'll start at level 6, and won't know each other at the start of the campaign. If anyone's interested, let me know and I can shoot you more details.
Fair warning, though.

I'm not pulling my punches. Don't even bother if you can't handle losing a character or two. If you make bad decisions, your doom will be sealed!
Any Questions? No. I see all and know all.
